My life is beginning to settle back down...well fall back into it's routine.

At the beginning of the year "school year", I was placed in a new position! While a colleague was on maternity leave, I got to take over her fifth grade classroom.  Just in case you don't know teaching is my passion. There is nothing that I would rather be doing. Not many people can say that they wake up with a smile on their face excited to go to work. I'm that girl! I absolutely LOVE my job. Anyways....the 12+ weeks I spent in fifth grade were memorable. Not only did I get to teach fifty-two amazing students, they got to teach me too! I also made some super sweet friends. My last day was bitter sweet....one door closed, while another opened.
Since my time in fifth grade came to an end, I've been spending the past three weeks helping out in Kindergarten where I should remain for the rest of the school year. Can I just say that I LOVE this too! Everyday is a new learning experience. It amazes me how much you watch the kids grow from day to day. I mean it, it's amazing what happens in a day.
Since August I have been in two different buildings - Made many new friends - Am back at my home away from home - Got to do what I live for------TEACH!

Josh and I are doing great!  Can't be more loved-out than we already are. I have to admit he is loving all the attention he is getting. I totally wasn't giving him enough before.  Now that I'm back in K, I don't have any school work to do outside of school. But don't worry I keep myself busy-shopping, baking, and pinteresting.
SO......We are ready for the festivities to begin (as ready as we can be). I think we have something planned everyday until I go back to work on the 2nd. That's the holidays for ya!

MIA

I know I've been MIA for sometime. Just like everyone else I've been busy. I know its not an excuse. I just needed to get back into my routine. One of the luxuries of working in the field of education is having your summers off. My days this summer consisted of reading, cleaning, lunch dates with my husband, pool parties with friends, blog stalking and blogging, FFF (forced family fun), making things for school, and lots of shopping.

Four weeks ago the school year started back up. I haven't seen 5:00 AM in sometime so naturally when I get home I'm exhausted. I am now balancing work life and family life. Believe it or not it takes my hubby some time to get used to me going back to work as well. He LOVES all the attention he gets in the summer. Between getting back into my routine and giving my hubby the attention he deserves, I haven't had time to blog...only time for stalking LOL

Here's where I left off.....My husband's reunion About a month ago I went to my hubby's 10 year reunion. I have to admit I was a little nervous, but it was a blast! I met some great people and best of all Josh had a great time catching up with old friends. WE are looking forward to seeing everyone again. Hoping it will be around Halloween. The following week/weekend was jammed packed. I started back to work and we took a trip to Niagara Falls. It was so nice to see all of my work BFF's again. Plus the start of a new school year is almost like Christmas for me. I have trouble sleeping the night before. Moving on....As soon as I got home from work on Friday we headed to Canada. I was so excited because it was my first time. Wow, the falls are beautiful. While we were there we ate and ate and ate some more. We also went shopping and checked out a few wineries. Who knew that I actually would find one that I could stomach. Overall it was a good time!

After we came home it was right back to work for the both of us and I absolutely love it! I go to work everyday with a smile on my face. Don't get me wrong I love my days off, but I love working more. So all-n-all I'm back into the routine that I love.

Suck....

Suck: I've been MIA
Sweet: Look out... tomorrow's post will be worth it.

8.11.2012

So tonight is my husbands 10 year reunion. It's one of those exciting but nerve wrecking days. I am excited to go but a little nervous that I don't know anyone, but then again I really don't care. It's one of those events... So in anticipation of the big event I of course ordered a dress online like a month ago and found the perfect matching accessories. My loving husband on the other hand does everything last minute. Two nights ago I made Josh decided what he wanted to wear so I could get it ironed and ready for him. He's really good at asking me to iron his clothes or help him pick them out as I'm getting ready and we have like 15 minutes before we're supposed to be out the door. So anyways I ironed everything and laid it out for him to try on with his new shoes. He tried all of his dress clothes on and said he hated everything, did I mention he absolutely hates dress clothes---Nothing like last night going to get a who new outfit. I wanted to laugh because his new outfit looks just like what he had, but oh well...I think our outfits are actually pretty sweet.
Here's a sneak peek...
1. Wristlet and earrings...which ones will I wear
2. My dress...Love it
3. Shoes
4. Nail Polish!!!
5. His tie....I picked this
6. Black pin stripe pant....did I mention he owns multiple pairs of these
7. His new shoes....only will wear Docs
8. His shirt and tie

Well we'll see how tonight goes....wish me luck

Suck & Sweet

Okay so I read these amazing books by Colleen Hoover. I read both books in less than 24 hours. That right there should speak for itself. Anyways, I have never in my life been on more of an emotional roller coaster. One moment I was laughing, the next crying , and even yelling at Will and Lake like they could hear me. I guess I'm just a sucker for any type romance. I can't wait for her next book to come out. Hurry up please....With that being said you need to read Slammed and Point of Retreat.

In the book the characters do something called Suck and Sweet Time.  I absolutely love it and the fact that they call it suck and sweet! I even convinced my husband to start doing it with me----not that...

What you do---tell what sucked the most about your day and what was the sweetest part! From now on whether I have anything exciting or less exciting to blog about I'm going to post my Suck and Sweet. I would love to hear yours as well.

Suck and Sweet Time:

Suck: I had to cut the grass and it made me sweat...
Sweet: I went on a mini shopping spree!!!

Short, Sweet, and Simple....I think not.

Everyone has their own story to tell. I am going to tell you mine---well it will turn into ours.

Growing up as a little girl I always dreamed of my knight in shining armor. I spent most of my childhood dreaming up my future. I must say that I was a pretty good dreamer.

I knew that one day I would find my other half and he would complete me.  Let's just say it took longer than I expected. I used the guess and check system a lot.

When I finally found him or he found me---we look at it a little differently--- it seemed like it was meant to be. Of course I had to play it cool and act like I wasn't that interested.  Why do guys always say---I'm not looking for a girlfriend?  You may not have been looking but you sure found one.  One that would become your wife.

Now I know I'm doing a lot of fast forwarding, but let's be honest you don't want all of the details just some background info will do.

Why did I decide to start to blog?
For starters, it looks like so much fun. Sometimes there are things that I just need to get off my chest. Other times I get super excited about something have a need to share.

Why the title?
I know the title Leather and Lace could pass for something Fifty Shades. If I were to write to a book in that genre I'd absolutely use that title...

Anyway when Josh and I got married Leather and Lace by Stevie Nicks was our song for our first dance! He gives me his leather and I give him my lace --- We bring out the best in each other.

I am so excited to share my memories, daily stories, and crazy ideas with all of you. I can't wait to hear about yours too.
